In route to Santa Barbara, we spent the night in Sausalito. Because we live in America and the drinking age is not two, Ralphie could not go into the City with Kip last night so he was stuck watching a movie with Tony and me.

We watched the perfect movie for worrywart parents spending their last weekend before college with their youngest child whose goal in life is to be an “adventurer.”  Ralphie chose the movie.

The movie is called 127 Hours. It is about a very capable (I pointed out every chance I could that his engineering skills were coming in handy – hint, hint. Ralphie pointed out that he must have been good at math) young adventurer who finds himself literally stuck between a rock and a hard place. I won’t spoil the ending for you; suffice it to say, he should have told his worrywart parents where he was going (and he should have returned his mom’s phone call). It is an excellent movie, and I highly recommend it to anyone with teens who think the are invincible. Wish Kip had been here to watch it.
